An evening with composers Gyula Bánkövi and Máté Balogh
22 November 2025, 07:00
House of Art and Literature - Lajos Fülep Hall
7621 Pécs, Széchenyi tér 7-8.
Gyula Bánkövi (1966) and Máté Balogh (1990), both Erkel Prize-winning composers, are renowned and sought-after figures on the Hungarian and European contemporary music scene. Although they represent different generations, this is not the first time they have organized a joint concert. In addition to their shared roots in Dunaújváros, they also share a frequent reference to specific literary works, a lyrical style of expression, and an experimental bent. Their current concert features adaptations of works by Pushkin, Kipling, Attila József, Péter Esterházy, and Renátó Fehér, accompanied by instrumental accompaniment. The individual works will be divided by readings and introductions by the composers.
