Andrea Edina Ulbrich was born in Budapest, Hungary. At the age of 6 she began studying the piano at the Béla Bartók Vocational Musik school and was admitted to the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in 1984, pursuing vocal studies.
Following her graduation in 1989 as an opera, concert artist and voice teacher, she took part in a series of master classes given by Yevgeny Nesterenko and Sylvia Geszty. She has won numerous international singing competitions:

As early as 1988 The Budapest Opera (Staatsoper) engaged the young singer and she remained associated with this institution until the present day. In 1986 Andrea Ulbrich became a member of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Duesseldorf and still actively participates there.
She appeared in operas and concert in many European cities, such as Vienna, Berlin, Frankfurt, Cologne, Monte Carlo, Paris, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Brussels. She also performed in Korea and in Taiwan in the far east. Recently she achieves an extraordinary success with Amneris in Torino.
