Gábor Kállay is the leader of the Excanto Ensemble. He completed his studies at Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest. Principally he is known as an opera and concert singer, but nevertheless he is a significant figure of the Hungarian early music life. He is a solist of more singer and instrumental groups, such as The Camerata Hungarica, The Mandel Quartet, The Affetti Musicali. He is also a composer at the EMB, there are etudes and his own adaptations published. He works as a teacher as well. The Excanto Ensemble is formed with the help of the former students at the Ferencvárosi Ádám Jenő Music School, two of the memebers are Gábor Kállay's own children.
