Péter Kováts started his violin studies with István Káté. Later Mr. Semyon Snitkovsky - David Oistrach's assistant - was his violin professor at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest. He studied chamber music with György Kurtág and Sándor Devich, and took part in chamber orchestra studies in the Academy Chamber Orchestra led by Albert Simon. After graduating with Bartók's Violin Concerto he continued his studies at NTSU University (U.S.A.) with Prof. Robert Davidovici. Following his time in America, he formed the Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra and since then he has been its Artistic Director and soloist.
