He was a member of the Honvéd Male Choir. He obtained his diploma in opera and vocal teaching from the Franz Liszt Music College in 1986 where he studied with József Simándy. He then joined the Hungarian State Opera House, since he has sung 62 roles. In 1986 he won first prize at the Franz Liszt Singing Competition. He has sung in the Soviet Union, Austria, Germany, Poland, Holland, Spain, Italy, Romania, Switzerland, Greece, Sweden, Japan, Canada and the USA. He has won a number of awards from Artisjus in recognition of his activities popularising Hungarian music. In 202 he won the Unions' Art and Culture Award.
